<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Apple Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a </span><b>Fire Safety Officer (Risk Assessment) – Band 6</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The successful candidate will provide technical fire safety advice, manage fire safety action plans, monitor contractors and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure fire risks are appropriately managed.</span></p>
<h3><b>Key Responsibilities</b></h3>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage fire safety across a designated portfolio of premises, working collaboratively with internal departments, external organisations and other stakeholders.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Undertake </span><b>Fire Risk Assessments</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> to identify hazards and risks to relevant persons and recommend appropriate risk reduction measures.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Develop and manage fire safety action plans arising from Fire Risk Assessments.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Monitor and update action plans within appropriate timescales and proactively follow up actions assigned to others.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Manage and coordinate the operational delivery of fire safety works through contractors.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve team and departmental objectives and KPIs.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Provide technical advice on fire safety matters, including statutory obligations, Building Regulations and relevant national and European technical standards.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Monitor contractor performance, participate in contract performance meetings and escalate issues of non-compliance or poor performance where required.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Consult with stakeholders including local authority representatives, tenants, staff, community representatives and other relevant parties on fire safety matters.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Use professional judgement and experience to make recommendations to management where significant fire safety risks are identified or immediate action is required.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Contribute to the design, development and delivery of internal and external Fire Safety training.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Assist with the preparation of reports for Health and Safety Committees and other relevant assurance committees.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation, industry best practice and technical developments through continuous professional development.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Issue works Task Orders through the relevant IT system, including cost centre allocation, priority and work descriptions.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Approve relevant variations and authorise invoices for payment within delegated levels of authority.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Monitor and manage complaints, resolving issues and identifying any emerging trends.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Act as a focal point for general Fire Safety enquiries as directed by the Fire Safety Manager.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Carry out any other relevant duties required to meet team or departmental objectives.</span></li>
</ul>
<h3><b>Essential Criteria</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Applicants must have:</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><b>1–5 years&#8217; relevant experience</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><b>NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> qualification.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Colin Todd Fire Risk Assessment competency training.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Intermediate IT proficiency.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience or knowledge appropriate to undertaking </span><b>Fire Risk Assessments</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and identifying appropriate fire risk reduction measures.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ability to manage and prioritise fire safety actions and work to agreed timescales.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ability to provide technical advice and make recommendations based on professional judgement and experience.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The ability to monitor contractor performance and identify and escalate issues where necessary.</span></li>

<p>Apple Recruitment Services are currently seeking a <strong>HR Advisor &#8211; Resourcing </strong>to join the Human Resources team of a large public sector organisation based in <strong>Belfast.</strong></p>
<p>This role would suit an experienced HR professional with a strong background in recruitment and selection, HR policy and employee resourcing who is confident in providing advice and guidance to managers and working across multiple recruitment exercises.</p>
<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will support the effective delivery of employee resourcing activity, ensuring recruitment processes are managed efficiently and in accordance with relevant policies, procedures, legislation and HR best practice.</p>
<p><strong>Key responsibilities will include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Supporting the Senior HR Advisor in delivering a professional, proactive and customer-focused resourcing service.</li>
<li>Ensuring employee resourcing activity is delivered in line with relevant resourcing policies, legislation and HR best practice.</li>
<li>Supporting the implementation of workforce planning and associated resourcing activity.</li>
<li>Providing advice, guidance and support to managers and panel members on recruitment and selection matters.</li>
<li>Reviewing and updating resourcing processes and procedures as required.</li>
<li>Working with recruiting managers and HR Business Partners to develop and maintain recruitment documentation, including job descriptions, person specifications, selection plans and candidate packs.</li>
<li>Working closely with Organisation Development colleagues in relation to assessment and testing requirements.</li>
<li>Preparing and coordinating recruitment advertisements and ensuring these are issued in a timely manner.</li>
<li>Maintaining effective communication with candidates and recruitment panels throughout the recruitment and selection process.</li>
<li>Ensuring pre-employment checks, including references, medicals and Access NI checks, are completed appropriately and within required timescales.</li>
<li>Supporting responses to candidate complaints, feedback requests and other recruitment-related correspondence.</li>
<li>Supporting the timely issue of contracts of employment.</li>
<li>Ensuring employee resourcing records are accurately maintained in accordance with legislative and organisational requirements.</li>
<li>Keeping up to date with developments in recruitment best practice and employment legislation.</li>
<li>Working collaboratively with HR colleagues and other key stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to service delivery.</li>
<li>Monitoring resourcing performance and supporting the achievement of relevant key performance indicators.</li>
<li>Providing training and guidance to managers on recruitment and selection procedures and techniques where required.</li>
<li>Preparing accurate reports and management information relating to employee resourcing activity.</li>
<li>Providing support to the wider Employee Services function as required.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p>
<p>Applicants must provide evidence that they meet the following essential criteria:</p>
<p>1. Degree level qualification (Level 6*) in Human Resource Management</p>
<p>AND</p>
<p>Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in a Human Resources function to include employee resourcing.</p>
<p>OR</p>
<p>Level 5* qualification in Human Resources</p>
<p>AND</p>
<p>Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Human Resources function to include employee resourcing.</p>
<p>*Refer to Qualifications Framework</p>
<p>2. Current professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development at Associate Member (Assoc CIPD) or above</p>
<p>OR</p>
<p>Can demonstrate ability to obtain this within 1 year of the closing date.</p>
<p>3. Can demonstrate relevant HR experience in at least 3 of the 4 areas below:</p>
<p>a. providing professional HR advice to managers on employee resourcing matters</p>
<p>b. providing end to end recruitment and selection services</p>
<p>c. effectively implementing resourcing policies and procedures</p>
<p>d. providing HR statistics and/or reports for managers.</p>

<li>Providing tours of Parliament Buildings to a wide range of audiences in a confident, inclusive, politically neutral and engaging manner.</li>
<li>Assisting the Visitor Experience Supervisor and the Visitor Experience Manager to continuously improve and develop and Visitor Experience team by providing input, ideas and feedback.</li>
<li>Assisting with event management and delivery, problem solving and assisting event organisers as required;</li>
<li>Working closely with colleagues within the Visitor Experience team and being flexible and dynamic in relation to service delivery;</li>
<li>Building and maintaining good relationships with colleagues from other business areas and with Members.</li>
<li>Managing electronic mailboxes, phone calls and dealing with routine correspondence accurately and promptly and forwarding to relevant staff as appropriate.</li>
