<p>Apple Recruitment Services are delighted to be recruiting a Make Ready Support Worker (Band 3) on behalf of our public sector client.<br />
This is a vital operational support role ensuring emergency vehicles and equipment are fully prepared, clean, stocked, safe, and ready for frontline deployment.</p>
<p><b><u>Make Ready Duties </u></b></p>
<ul>
<li>Contribute to ensuring the highest standards of environmental cleanliness within designated area of work Contribute to the readiness of the NIAS fleet by ensuring vehicles are stocked, cleaned, in good state of repair and road worthy Ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained both in the interior and exterior of vehicles in line with agreed standards  Ensure on-board equipment such as medical devices are clean, functioning and in good state of repair  Drive / move vehicles within and between stations to facilitate cleaning / decontamination Undertake Vehicle Daily Inspection (VDI) checks on lights, wiper blades, fluid levels etc and report defects / organise repair where appropriate Ensure clinical response bags are appropriately stocked to agreed levels Liaise with Station Officer / Supervisor daily to ensure optimum service delivery Ensure that cleaning equipment is clean, in good state of repair and stored correctly whilst not in use Dispose of waste / sharps in accordance with NIAS policy and procedure. Replenish household / clinical waste as required Identify areas where improvement is required and promote innovation where possible To monitor / replenish supplies within each operational vehicle / stock room while ensuring stock rotation is in place</li>
</ul>
<p>Ensure equipment is in good state of repair and report any defects / missing property</p>
<p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong></p>
<p>3 GCSEs or equivalent, including English Language (Grades A-C/9-4) and 1 years’</p>
<p>Experience within a service discipline or department such Support Services.</p>
<p><b>OR</b></p>
<p>Relevant vocational qualification e.g. NVQ/QCF/RQF (Level 2) and 1 year experience within a service discipline or department such Support Services.</p>
<p><b>OR</b></p>
<p>Worked for at least 3 years where you have gained experience within a service discipline or department such Support Services.</p>
<ul>
<li>Currently hold a Category C1 driving licence OR present evidence of attainment of a Category C1 driving licence prior to commencement of the post Be willing to work shifts including evening, weekends and public holidays</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>ESSENTIAL CRITERIA</strong></p>
<p>• A minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) to include English and Maths or equivalent</p>
<p>• Consideration may be given to those candidates who do not hold the above academic qualifications but who can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience as below.</p>

<p><strong>MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB</strong></p>
<p>Responsible to the Waste &amp; Resource Management Supervisors for the day-to-day supervision of the Council’s Household Recycling Centres.</p>
<p>To ensure the services are carried out in accordance with the Quality Standards set by the Council. Assist the Waste &amp; Resource Management Supervisors to manage human, physical, and financial resources to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.</p>
<p>Provide leadership, monitoring of performance, continuous service improvement and quality of service delivery in compliance with current legislation and regulations.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>
<ol>
<li>Assist in the delivery of the day-to-day operation of the Council’s Household Recycling Centres including the deployment, supervision, and control of Waste &amp; Resource Management operatives to ensure the delivery of a quality service and in line with the section Business plan.</li>
<li>Assist in ensuring that Household Recycling Centres are clean, customer focussed, open and closed at designated times, fully serviced by in-house and out-sourced contractors and remain legally compliant at all times.</li>
<li>Assist in ensuring that staff are provided with the necessary plant, equipment and materials to carry out their work effectively and efficiently, working closely with the Fleet Management to ensure all vehicles and plant are serviced and maintained.</li>
<li>Monitor and maintain high quality standards of recyclable material collected at the Household Recycling Centres. 2 February 2026</li>
<li>Assist in the maintaining of records and report information relating to the performance of the Household Recycling Centres, Fleet, Plant and Equipment.</li>
<li>Assist the Waste &amp; Resource Management Supervisors and Waste Operations Manager in ensuring compliance with Duty of Care legislation.</li>
<li>Assist in the day to day management of the Council’s fleet, plant and equipment by ensuring all vehicles, plant and equipment are operated in a safe, efficient and legally compliant manner.</li>
<li>Participate in education/awareness activities as required by the Waste Operations Manager, including advice to the public.</li>
<li>Assist in the promotion of the provision of a customer orientated service including providing a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following through to completion and ensuring continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Carry out fire warden and first aid duties as and when required.</li>
<li>Liaising with members of the public in regard to the provision of services for which the Council may levy a charge.</li>
<li>Assisting in the promotion and development of the Council’s commercial waste disposal service at Bruslee Recycling Centre.</li>
<li>Assist with Refuse and Street Cleansing as and when required.</li>
<li>Assist in managing employee attendance via the Time Management System and the Council Managing Attendance Policy.</li>
<li>Deputise for the Waste &amp; Resource Management Supervisors as and when required.</li>
<li>Participate in relevant human resource issues including recruitment and selection, interviewing, disciplinary, grievance and sickness/absence management as required.</li>
<li>Contribute to the overall performance of the Waste Management Section to ensure key performance indicators for the Section are achieved.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a team approach to achieving the objectives of the Section through full flexibility in relation to tasks undertaken.</li>
<li>Provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion.</li>
<li>Ensure procedures and policies to manage risk are implemented within the 3 February 2026 department and investigate accidents/incidents to ensure Council compliance with corporate governance requirements.</li>
<li>Arrange and deliver induction training and instruction of staff. Instruct staff in the operation of vehicles, plant and equipment, identifying training in line with statutory legislation.</li>
<li>Continuously develop personal knowledge and skills to enhance internal and external customer service.</li>
<li>Attend meetings and participate in all training relevant to the work of the Section, including the delivery of relevant toolbox talks, ensuring that they are up-to-date, maintained, and understood by all staff.</li>
<li>Comply with, and ensure that staff comply with, Council’s policies and procedures including those relating to Health, Safety and Well-being.</li>
<li>Carry out any duties which may be assigned including working in other Sections of the Section, Department or Council.</li>
<li>Comply with the Council’s Financial Regulations.</li>

<p>On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a <b>Finance Business Partner (DP Accountant Finance)</b> to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to contribute to the delivery of high-quality financial services, expert advice, and effective financial governance.</p>

<p><strong>Main Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p>As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:</p>
<ul>
<li>Providing high quality, accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders, including the preparation of regular reports for senior management</li>
<li>Delivering expert financial advice and guidance to budget holders on budgeting and in-year financial monitoring</li>
<li>Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders as required Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts and the costing of research and business development opportunities</li>
<li>Promoting the safeguarding of public funds by ensuring financial probity, regularity and value for money</li>
<li>Supporting the establishment and maintenance of internal control systems and governance frameworks, including the development of relevant policies and procedures</li>
<li>Assisting in the development and implementation of financial systems to support financial management and reporting</li>
<li>Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of public expenditure planning, monitoring, control and accountability systems</li>
<li>Assisting with the preparation of annual accounts and liaising with auditors as required</li>
<li>Reviewing and assessing business cases and supporting investment appraisal processes</li>
<li>Managing the resources within your own section</li>
<li>Promoting high standards of accountability, integrity and probity, and providing professional financial advice to support decision-making</li>

<p><strong>Staff Management Responsibilities</strong></p>

<li>Lead, manage and motivate staff to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery</li>

<li>Maintain the Purchase Ledger, ensuring accuracy and timeliness</li>
<li>Process purchase invoices and raise purchase orders</li>
<li>Liaise with suppliers regarding queries and payments</li>
<li>Raise sales invoices and credit notes</li>
<li>Handle customer payment queries via telephone and email Allocate payments and receipts accurately to supplier and customer accounts</li>
<li>Support credit control activities</li>
<li>Complete month-end cut-off processes in line with department deadlines</li>
<li>Maintain organised financial records and documentation</li>
<li>Undertake general finance and administrative duties as required</li>

<p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p>

<li>Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including Maths and English</li>
<li>At least 2 years’ experience in an administration and finance role</li>
<li>Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook</li>
<li>Experience working with MIS/ERP systems</li>
<li>Strong numerical ability and high attention to detail</li>
<li>Willingness to learn and adapt to new finance systems and processes</li>
</ul>

<li>Accounting Technician qualification or part-qualified status</li>
<li>Experience using Opera, Accura, or similar accounting systems</li>
