<h2>About the Role</h2>
<p>We are currently recruiting for a <strong>Business Development Administrative Officer</strong> on behalf of a large public sector organisation.</p>
<p>This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a busy Economic Development team, providing high-quality administrative and business support across a range of economic development, employability, skills, regeneration and business support programmes.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects and initiatives that contribute to local economic growth, business engagement and employment opportunities.</p>
<h2>Key Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Economic Development and Planning Department.</li>
<li>Validate and verify project information submitted by delivery partners.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate records, databases, performance dashboards and business directories.</li>
<li>Coordinate meetings, workshops, seminars and stakeholder engagement events.</li>
<li>Prepare, format and issue correspondence, reports, presentations and project documentation.</li>
<li>Support the administration of grant funding programmes and associated payments.</li>
<li>Record and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and action logs.</li>
<li>Manage departmental inboxes, telephone enquiries and customer queries.</li>
<li>Support the delivery of employability and skills programmes, including Labour Market Partnership initiatives.</li>
<li>Assist with the organisation and administration of business events, job fairs, consultations and promotional activities.</li>
<li>Maintain filing systems and ensure compliance with GDPR and organisational procedures.</li>
<li>Process purchase orders, invoices and financial documentation in accordance with audit requirements.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Essential Criteria</h2>
<p>Applicants must demonstrate:</p>
<ul>
<li>5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade A-C, including English Language and Mathematics.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>OR</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>A minimum of 4 years&#8217; administrative experience in lieu of the qualification requirement.</li>
</ul>
<p>In addition, applicants must have:</p>
<ul>
<li>At least 2 years&#8217; administrative experience, including:
<ul>
<li>Dealing with members of the public and responding to enquiries from a variety of stakeholders.</li>
<li>Data input, record management and information retrieval.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Excellent organisational and customer service skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively within a small specialist team.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.</li>
<li>High levels of discretion and confidentiality.</li>
<li>Competence in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook.</li>
<li>A full current driving licence or access to suitable transport to fulfil the requirements of the role.</li>
</ul>

<p>Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.</p>
<p><b>JOB SUMMARY</b></p>
<p>To assist in the effective performance of POCT in the Western Health &amp; Social Care Trust. To assist in the maintenance, evaluation, staff training and documentation of all POCT equipment under the guidance of the Biomedical Scientist Point of Care Testing (POCT) Specialist. To assist in ensuring that equipment is maintained and controlled so as to be available in order to provide a rapid and timely turnaround time for patient care.</p>
<p>This post will be primarily based at Altnagelvin Hospital but will require the post holder to visit other sites in the Western Trust on a regular (weekly) basis, sometimes at short notice.</p>
<p>The post is based in the Pathology Department but work of a multidiscipline nature will be required.</p>
<p><b><u>MAIN DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES</u></b></p>
<p>All of these duties must be carried out in accordance with the Point of Care Testing Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety Policy.</p>
<ul>
<li>To assist in maintaining and running Point of Care equipment in line with Trust Policy and to standards required by UKAS ISO 15189 and ISO 22870.</li>
<li>To assist in maintaining adequate stock levels of Point of Care consumables, both within the Department and at each POCT site. To ensure that all storage areas are safe and tidy. To minimise wastage of materials by appropriate stock rotation and by good laboratory technique. To assist in the monitoring of Point of Care equipment and to ensure that it is functioning correctly. To troubleshoot and repair as necessary and report any faults/problems to the Biomedical Scientist Point of Care Testing (POCT) Specialist. To assist in maintaining the asset register for POCT equipment.</li>
<li>To ensure that Internal Quality Control is performed prior to the analysis of patient samples.</li>
<li>Receipt of POCT stock ensuring they are recorded and appropriately stored in the relevant POCT areas or fridges.</li>
<li>Preparation and replenishing of reagents on automated equipment.</li>
<li>Maintenance of the Blood Gas analysers in the POCT setting.</li>
<li>Maintenance, calibration, processing of quality control checks of POCT analysers.</li>
<li>Maintenance of other laboratory equipment as assigned by the Lead BMS. General maintenance, cleaning and decontamination of POCT instruments in compliance with written protocols

<li>Clerical duties – preparation of EQA distributions and data input of EQA returns – data retrieval for audits and POCT meetings.</li>

• Process  sub-contractor completions and input real time events for job completion.<br />
• Correlate out of hour’s task data and track task progress, and process accordingly to meet deadlines.<br />
• Communicate effectively with Tenants, NIHE staff and other statutory bodies.<br />
• Deal with tenants queries, effectively and efficiently.<br />
• Save and retain a variety of documents for audit purposes.<br />
• Use of both the DLO IT systems and HMS (Housing Management System).<br />
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of the schedule of rates<br />
• Carry out inspections for missing data, certificates and other system compliance issues.<br />
• Work as part of a team and communicate to a high level and in a professional manner both internally and externally.<br />
• May be required to provide cover on a rota basis to 20.00 Mon to Fri and to 2.00 on a Saturday.<br />
• Any other duties as required.</p>
