                    <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Senior Internal Auditor</strong></p>
<p><strong>Salary:</strong> £35,000 &#8211; £42,000 per annum + 6-9 % Annual Bonus</p>
<p>Apple Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Senior Internal<br />
Auditor to join their Business Planning team.</p>
<p>This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced internal audit professional to play a key<br />
role in delivering a high-quality, risk-based internal audit function within a well-established<br />
organisation.</p>
<p>The successful candidate will support the Internal Audit Manager in providing<br />
independent assurance on governance, risk management and internal control processes,<br />
while contributing to continuous business improvement across the organisation.</p>
<p>This is a permanent, full-time office-based position in Belfast, working 37 hours per week:</p>
<p>Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm</p>
<p>Friday: 8:30am – 4:30pm</p>
<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>The Senior Internal Auditor will support the delivery of the annual internal audit plan,<br />
carrying out audits across a range of business functions and providing management with<br />
objective analysis, findings and practical recommendations.<br />
Working closely with the Internal Audit Manager, the successful candidate will also<br />
contribute to risk management activities, support organisational compliance requirements<br />
and help build confidence in the effectiveness of internal controls throughout the business.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Internal Audit Delivery</li>
</ul>
<p>Plan and execute internal audit assignments in line with the approved annual audit plan and<br />
professional auditing standards.<br />
Conduct risk-based testing and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.<br />
Identify control weaknesses, inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.<br />
Gather, analyse and evaluate audit evidence to support conclusions and recommendations.<br />
Prepare high-quality audit working papers and draft audit reports.</p>
<ul>
<li>Stakeholder Management</li>
</ul>
<p>Build and maintain strong working relationships with managers and employees across the<br />
organisation.<br />
Communicate audit objectives, findings and recommendations clearly and professionally.</p>
<p>Present audit findings in a constructive and solutions-focused manner.</p>
<ul>
<li>Risk Management &amp; Compliance</li>
</ul>
<p>Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the organisation&#8217;s risk management<br />
framework.<br />
Review corporate and departmental risk registers and provide observations and<br />
recommendations where appropriate.</p>
<ul>
<li>Assist with periodic risk reporting and assurance activities.</li>
</ul>
<p>Keep up to date with developments in internal audit standards, governance, risk<br />
management and relevant regulatory requirements.</p>
<ul>
<li>Audit Follow-Up &amp; Continuous Improvement</li>
</ul>
<p>Monitor progress against agreed management actions.<br />
Track audit recommendations through to completion.<br />
Support the development of annual internal audit plans.<br />
Liaise with external auditors and other assurance providers as required to ensure a<br />
coordinated approach to assurance activities.<br />
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.</p>
<p><strong>The Person</strong><br />
Essential Criteria</p>
<ul>
<li>Degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.</li>
<li>Professional accountancy or internal audit qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA or CIA), or currently working towards one.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years&#8217; internal audit experience.</li>
<li>Experience preparing audit working papers and draft reports to a professional standard.</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of internal audit standards, principles and best practice.</li>
<li>Good understanding of risk management, governance and internal control frameworks.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li>
<li>Ability to present findings and recommendations clearly and professionally.</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation.</li>
<li>High levels of integrity and professionalism.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.</li>

Assembly. This role will be for 3 months with possibility of extension. Hourly rate based on £29,137.<br />
Job Description:<br />
The main duties and responsibilities are:<br />
• Provide high-quality customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders, both internal and<br />
external, including Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA’s) and their staff, NI Assembly staff<br />
and third-party suppliers.<br />
• Manage own work to ensure the delivery of objectives.<br />
• Process, check, raise and address queries and input financial documentation and information,<br />
including invoices, payroll data, expense claims and payments.<br />
• Perform reconciliations and process corrections on general ledger accounts.<br />
• Investigate irregularities and process corrections on a computerised system.<br />
• Efficiently file and record financial documentation and information.<br />
• Respond promptly to e-mail, telephone and face to face queries regarding invoices, payroll,<br />
expense claims and payments.<br />
• Record and distribute correspondence, emails, incoming mail / post, monitor and manage<br />
electronic mailboxes and deal with routine correspondence accurately and promptly and forward to<br />
relevant staff as appropriate.<br />
• Effectively use Microsoft Office and bespoke internal Assembly financial software systems and<br />
databases. Provide accurate information and advice in a professional and helpful manner in line with<br />
organisational policies and procedures.<br />
• Comply with all Assembly Commission’s staff policies and procedures including Equal<br />
Opportunities and Dignity at Work policies and procedures.<br />
• Carry out other duties that the Assembly Commission reasonably requires of you.<br />

b) Using effective oral, written and numerical skills to communicate effectively with a diverse range<br />
of people at all levels, including team members, members of the public, customers, suppliers and<br />
managers.<br />
c) Organising workload and giving attention to detail to produce accurate, high quality work to<br />
deadlines.<br />
d) Effectively using a financial software package and Microsoft Office products to process financial<br />
documents and information.<br />
OR<br />
2. At least 4 years’ experience in a finance office, or an administrative role carrying out finance<br />
duties, in each of a) – d).</p>

 Hourly Rate based on £29,137 p.a.<br />
 Duration: 3 months with possibility of extension<br />
 Date of informal discussions – Week commencing 17 th August via Teams<br />
