<p>Job Description &#8211; The main duties and responsibilities of the post are to:<br />
• Plan and lead the analysis and development of sets of related user stories using Agile<br />
processes, including liaison with users throughout the organisation to create work item<br />
technical specifications;<br />
• Contribute to the system design and have an understanding of the whole system,<br />
and take responsibility for teaching this to others;<br />
• Contribute to systems integration design and build, including awareness of cross-<br />
system dependencies;<br />
• Design solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically<br />
engineered as mitigation against security threats;<br />
• Design, code, test, review and document software components of medium to high<br />
complexity to agreed technical specification;<br />
• Develop software using the latest Microsoft technologies such as ASP.Net Core MVC,<br />
C#.Net, Azure functions, Entity Framework Core and SQL Server;<br />
• Support and maintain legacy systems developed using VB.Net, WinForm and<br />
WebForms;<br />
• Write clean, secure and effective code by adhering to software development<br />
policies, standards, and best practice guidelines;<br />
• Develop, support and provide technical advice on cloud-based technologies such as<br />
Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Microsoft Teams and SharePoint Online;<br />
• Develop and support software solutions that integrate 3rd party software such as<br />
EPiServer CMS and Umbraco CMS;<br />
• Provide technical support for bespoke systems, including support for business<br />
critical procedural systems to ensure the smooth running of Plenary and Committee<br />
business;<br />
• Line management of Software Developers and Junior Developers, including<br />
monitoring of performance, quality assurance, coaching and mentoring;<br />
• Advice and training to Assembly Members and their staff in the use of ICT systems,<br />
including system demonstrations and the preparation of user documentation;<br />
• Assist in the development and implementation of relevant IT policy, strategy and<br />
standards;<br />
• Co-operation with other ICT staff in maintaining effective computing services<br />
• Project management duties;<br />
• Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of IT security measures;<br />
• Undertaking other duties in line with the needs and level of this post;<br />
• Comply with all of the Assembly Commission’s staff policies and procedures<br />

Job Description:<br />
The main duties and responsibilities are:<br />
• Providing technical support and advice to customers, taking enquiries in person, by phone<br />
and email;<br />
• Diagnosing and resolving customer’s problems effectively and efficiently, following up with<br />
customers to ensure full resolution of issues;<br />
• Classifying and prioritising problems, documenting their causes and implementing remedies<br />
and preventative measures;<br />
• Identifying and analysing broader technical and system issues, helping to find appropriate<br />

• Patching and updating MS Windows Server operating systems running in a Windows Hyper-<br />

development team<br />
• Coach, develop and manage a team of software developers using Agile processes<br />

                    <description><![CDATA[<p>Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Business Analyst on behalf of the NI Assembly. These<br />
roles will be up to 31 st December 2026. Hourly rate based on £44,039 p.a. (+£4,875 salary<br />
supplement p.a.)<br />
Job Description:<br />
The main duties and responsibilities of the post are to:<br />
• Build knowledge and understanding of two main areas;<br />
o Current IS technology base – infrastructure and software environments; and<br />
o Assembly Procedures.</p>
<p>Assist in the running of IS Office related Project and Change Management projects<br />
Work alongside Assembly Commission business units to assist in and improve the planning and<br />
delivery of ICT enabled projects. This will involve:<br />
Assisting Assembly Commission business units by providing support in the delivery of;</p>
<p>▪ Innovative digital solutions;<br />
▪ Business improvement processes;<br />
▪ Change management;<br />
▪ Business mapping processes;<br />
▪ Pre Market Engagement activities as required;<br />
▪ Strategic business cases to support the replacement of key systems;<br />
▪ Outcome-based requirements to support procurement activities;<br />
▪ Utilising MS DevOps to support capturing requirements and assign tasks;<br />
▪ Guidance on how to make effective use of existing IT solutions;<br />
Information gathering, analysis and regular review meetings with Assembly Commission<br />
business units: identifying potential key business development opportunities.<br />
• Have an understanding of basic finance and HR processes to support the<br />
organisation replace core applications.<br />
• Participate in business modelling processes, being conversant with techniques<br />
covering the full range of modelling situations and have ability to gather insight from<br />
stakeholders and communicate modelling results clearly to them.<br />
• Understanding and experience of software product life cycle especially the Agile<br />
development methodology;<br />
• Providing business analysis of software development requests to support IS<br />
Application and Infrastructure teams to ensure that requests align with the vision, objectives<br />
and strategy of the organisation.<br />
• Production of user stories (requirements) in relation to software development<br />
requests and then working collaboratively with the lead software developers to finalise<br />
these stories from a user and technical point of view.<br />
• Review design and requirements documentation in order to assist and support the<br />
end user in the testing of developed systems. Support the recording of these results and<br />
provide analysis and feedback to IS Developers.<br />
• Manage and use feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure<br />
effectiveness of stakeholder management. Help develop and enhance customer and<br />
stakeholder relationships.<br />
• Manage contracted equipment or services suppliers to ensure project timetables are<br />
met and services are being delivered to agreed standards via scheduled review meetings.<br />
• Support creation and delivery of training across the M365 products and newly<br />
provisioned application as procured / delivered.</p>
<p>• Support end users with the adoption of new technologies and applications.<br />
• Comply with the Assembly’s Equal Opportunities and Dignity at Work policies and<br />
procedures.<br />
• Manage information and records in accordance with established policies and<br />
statutory requirements.<br />
• You may also be required to carry out other duties that the Assembly Commission<br />
reasonably requires of you.<br />

Essential Criteria:<br />
Applicants for the post of Senior Business Analyst must, by the closing date for applications, have:<br />
(i) A primary degree, 2:2 classification or post-graduate qualification, in computing or<br />
information management related discipline*.<br />
Applications will be considered from applicants with formal qualifications of an<br />
equivalent or higher standard to those stated.<br />
AND<br />
(i) Possess up to date PRINCE2 or PMI Agile Practitioner certification<br />
Successful candidates who do not have up to date Practitioner certification will be<br />
expected to attain this within the first six months following appointment.<br />
AND<br />
(ii) At least 3 years’ experience in each of the areas specified at a-c below;<br />
OR<br />
(iii) At least three GCE A-levels, grade C classification, in any subject.<br />
AND<br />
(iv) At least 5 years’ experience in each of the following areas:</p>
<p>(a) Managing, or assisting in the management of, complex** information<br />
technology projects delivered using a formalised project management approach.<br />
(b) Leading, or contributing to, the implementation of change programmes that<br />
impact across different key business areas within an organisation.<br />
(c) Anticipating and analysing problems to produce options and<br />
recommendations to senior staff and/or decision makers.</p>
<p>AND</p>
<p>(v) Current PRINCE2 or PMI Agile Practitioner certification.<br />
Successful candidates who do not have up to date PRINCE2 Practitioner certification will<br />
be expected to attain this within the first six months following appointment.<br />

** A complex information technology project is defined as a project with a total budget value<br />
