Job Title: Waste Resource Management Driver (Category C)
Location: Antrim
Duration: Temporary
Salary: £14.13 per hour basic, plus 8.5% shift allowance (£15.33 per hour)
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday – Thursday rotating shift pattern
Week 1
- Monday – 6:00am – 3:45pm
- Tuesday – 6:00am – 3:45pm
- Wednesday – 6:00am – 3:45pm
- Thursday – 6:00am – 3:45pm
- Friday – Sunday – Off
Week 2
- Monday – 6:00am – 3:45pm
- Tuesday – 7:00am – 4:45pm
- Wednesday – 7:00am – 4:45pm
- Thursday – 7:00am – 4:45pm
- Friday – Sunday – Off

Apple Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Waste Resource Management Driver (Category C) to join their Waste Operations team based in Antrim
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate Category C waste collection vehicles.
- Supervise crew members and ensure daily work schedules are completed efficiently.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety inspections, maintenance checks and cleaning.
- Complete vehicle defect reports, accident records and safety documentation.
- Collect domestic and commercial waste, recycling and bulky household items.
- Carry out street cleansing and environmental cleansing duties when required.
- Supervise waste disposal activities at Household Recycling Centres.
- Operate on-board safety, communication and computer systems.
- Liaise professionally with customers and resolve queries where appropriate.
- Assist with gritting, snow clearance and emergency duties during adverse weather.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, traffic management legislation and Council policies.
Essential Criteria
- Valid Category C (C+E as specified) driving licence.
- Hold a full Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating with a Category C licence.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Computer literate (including use of TMS/GPS systems).
- Working knowledge of:
- Health & Safety procedures, including manual handling and the use of reversing assistants.
- Waste collection, recycling and disposal.
- Traffic management.
- Successfully complete a Driver Assessment prior to interview.
