Job Title: Gas Engineer
Location: Greater Belfast Area. Fully office based – no opportunity for hybrid
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £26,753 – £34,253 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Apple Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client for multiple Gas Engineers to join their team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair and exchange domestic gas meters and other gas assets.
- Carry out meter asset maintenance in line with standard operating procedures and regulated standards.
- Participate in the after-hours standby rota.
- Undertake all gas work in accordance with ACS, IGEM and other relevant industry standards.
- Complete all required documentation relating to gas work undertaken and report any unsafe situations.
- Account for all materials, parts and assets used during allocated work.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, equipment and PPE, reporting any defects, accidents or loss.
- Comply with all Health & Safety requirements to maintain personal and public safety.
- Deliver first-class customer service while promoting the organisation’s products and services.
- Participate in ongoing learning, development and six-monthly performance reviews.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and partner organisations.
- Undertake Gas Emergency Response training, leading to participation in the 24/7 emergency response rota.
Essential Criteria
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Relevant IT skills.
- Professional and flexible approach to work.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Criteria
- STEM-based qualification.
- NVQ qualification.
- Experience within the gas industry.
- ACS qualifications (CCN1 or CMA1 REGT1).
- Two years’ recognised apprenticeship experience in domestic gas utilisation, heating and plumbing, including diagnostics (or equivalent).
- Customer service experience.
- Commercial gas utilisation experience.
