Location: Antrim
Pay: £13.69–£14.13 per hour + Waste Allowance
Enhanced rates: Up to £16.74 per hour including Waste Allowance
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Various shift patterns, including Monday–Thursday and 4 days out of 7
Duration: Temporary contracts

Apple Recruitment are currently recruiting for multiple Waste Resource Management Drivers to join a busy Environmental Services operation based in Antrim.

We are recruiting for both Category C and Category C1 Drivers, with a number of full-time temporary opportunities available.

These roles offer competitive rates of pay, including a Waste Allowance, and would suit experienced professional drivers who are comfortable working in a busy waste management environment.

Vacancies Available

Category C Drivers

£14.13 per hour + 8.5% Waste Allowance = £15.33 per hour

• Full-time, 37 hours per week
• Monday–Thursday shift pattern
• Temporary contract up to 30 November 2026

£14.13 per hour + 18.5% Waste Allowance = £16.74 per hour

• Full-time, 37 hours per week
• 4 days out of 7
• Temporary contracts available up to 30 November 2026
• One position available on a temporary contract of up to 3 months

Category C1 Drivers – 3 Positions

£13.69 per hour + 18.5% Waste Allowance = £16.22 per hour

• Full-time, 37 hours per week
• 4 days out of 7
• Monday–Saturday working pattern
• Temporary contract up to 30 November 2026
• 3 positions available

The Role

As a Waste Resource Management Driver, you will be responsible for operating the appropriate vehicle safely and efficiently while supporting waste collection and resource management services.

The role involves working as part of a team, following health and safety procedures and ensuring a professional and reliable service is delivered.

Essential Requirements

For Category C positions:

• Valid C+E licence
• Full CPC Licence / Driver Qualification Card
• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating with a Category C licence
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use systems for holidays/GPS
• Working knowledge of health and safety procedures, including manual handling and the use of reversing assistants
• Knowledge of waste collection, disposal and recycling
• Knowledge of traffic management
• Willingness to undertake a Driver Assessment as part of the recruitment process

For Category C1 positions:

• Valid Category C1 licence
• Full CPC Licence / Driver Qualification Card
• Minimum 2 years’ experience operating with a Category C1 licence
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use systems for holidays/GPS
• Working knowledge of health and safety procedures, including manual handling and the use of reversing assistants
• Knowledge of waste collection, disposal and recycling
• Knowledge of traffic management

Desirable Experience

Previous experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

• Waste management
• Driving refuse collection vehicles
• Operating HGV mechanical sweepers
