Leasehold Officer – Band 4

Location: Belfast
Salary: £14.35 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: Temporary, Full-Time
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm

Apple Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Leasehold Officer (Band 4) on behalf of a public-sector housing organisation based in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a specialist Leasehold Unit, supporting the delivery of leasehold services, service charge administration and income collection.

Key Duties

  • Assist with the calculation of service charges, including General Service Charges and Planned Scheme/Improvement Works.
  • Prepare service charge account information for leaseholders and their representatives.
  • Deal with leasehold customer queries relating to service delivery, taking ownership of enquiries and following issues through to completion.
  • Apply income collection procedures for the recovery of monies and implement arrears recovery procedures.
  • Liaise with other departments and business units to ensure correct charging and billing information.
  • Analyse information from various systems and sources.
  • Update and administer leasehold charging and collection systems.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams to support income collection objectives.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organise and prioritise workload appropriately and work independently.
  • Provide a high level of internal and external customer service.
  • Comply with and promote relevant organisational policies, frameworks and procedures, including equality, health and safety and information governance requirements.
  • Continuously develop personal knowledge and skills to enhance internal and external customer service.
  • Undertake other relevant duties as required.
  • Access NI: Basic clearance required

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet one of the following:

  • BTEC Higher or equivalent qualification plus 1 year’s relevant general administrative experience; OR
  • BTEC National or equivalent qualification plus 2 years’ relevant general administrative experience.

Relevant general administrative experience must have been gained within an office-based environment and include either:

  • Investigatory responsibility; or
  • Customer care responsibility; or
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of information systems.

Applicants must also have intermediate IT proficiency.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working within a housing, leasehold, property or public-sector environment.
  • Experience dealing with customer queries and complaints.
  • Experience working with financial, billing or income collection systems.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret information from various sources.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
