Job Description

Job Title: Finance Business Partner (DP Accountant Finance)
Location: Belfast / Hillsborough (Hybrid)
Salary: Hourly rate based on £47,304 per annum
Contract Type: Temporary
Duration: 6 months (with the possibility of extension)
Start Date: ASAP

 

Working Pattern:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Hybrid working available

About the Role

On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting for a Finance Business Partner (DP Accountant Finance) to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to contribute to the delivery of high-quality financial services, expert advice, and effective financial governance.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting financial management processes and providing strategic financial insight to a range of stakeholders.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing high quality, accurate and timely financial information to stakeholders, including the preparation of regular reports for senior management
  • Delivering expert financial advice and guidance to budget holders on budgeting and in-year financial monitoring
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders as required Assisting in the preparation of financial forecasts and the costing of research and business development opportunities
  • Promoting the safeguarding of public funds by ensuring financial probity, regularity and value for money
  • Supporting the establishment and maintenance of internal control systems and governance frameworks, including the development of relevant policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of financial systems to support financial management and reporting
  • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of public expenditure planning, monitoring, control and accountability systems
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual accounts and liaising with auditors as required
  • Reviewing and assessing business cases and supporting investment appraisal processes
  • Managing the resources within your own section
  • Promoting high standards of accountability, integrity and probity, and providing professional financial advice to support decision-making

 

Staff Management Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and motivate staff to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery
  • Ensure effective staff management, including absence and performance management

 

Essential Criteria

Applicants must meet both of the following criteria:

 

Professional Qualification

Have successfully passed final professional examinations and be a full current member of one of the following professional bodies:

  • Chartered Accountants Ireland Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland
  • Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
  • Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy
  • Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland

 

Experience

Have a minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification practical experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Financial planning and budgeting Financial management / management accounting
  • Financial accounting / auditing
  • Development or implementation of financial systems
  • Strategic planning and decision support in a finance or regulatory environment
