Housing Advisor – Band 5
Location: Portadown Office
Salary: £16.90 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week
Duration: Temporary, Full-Time
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

Apple Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Housing Advisor (Band 5) on behalf of a public sector organisation based at the Portadown Office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused professional to provide housing advice and support, carry out housing and homelessness assessments, manage a caseload and work closely with customers and other stakeholders.

Key Duties

  • Carry out housing and homelessness assessments in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Manage an allocated caseload and ensure cases are progressed appropriately.
  • Undertake reassessments where required.
  • Respond to customer enquiries and telephone calls in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide appropriate housing advice, information and support to customers.
  • Prepare and respond to MLA enquiries.
  • Represent the organisation at relevant meetings.
  • Work effectively with colleagues, partner organisations and other professional services.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders, including in challenging situations.
  • Manage and prioritise workload effectively to ensure customer needs are addressed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and case information.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with relevant organisational policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Maintain a professional, customer-focused approach at all times.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a customer-focused environment, with less than 1 year’s experience acceptable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues and other professionals.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a caseload and competing demands.
  • Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic IT proficiency.
