Job Description

Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Human Resource Assistant (Band 3) on behalf of our client, Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, based in the Belfast area.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Team in a timely and consistent manner and in accordance with policies, procedures and employment law. These will include responding to basic queries, dealing with requests for information, data input, collection and reporting.
  • Undertake processing activity on the Human Resources Payroll and Travel
  • System (HRPTS) to support the efficient and effective delivery of the HR Service.
  • Assist in the collection and collation of relevant data to enable monitoring, analysis and reporting of HR information as required.
  • Create and maintain HR files in the Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) in accordance with appropriate guidance. This includes the safe storage, retrieval and disposal of files.
  • Provide routine advice, guidance and assistance as required.
  • Work as part of a team, which forms part of the overall Human Resources and Organisational Development (HROD) Function.
  • Work to agreed timescales and ensure quality standards are maintained at all times.
  • Adhere to relevant protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in identifying areas for service improvement to continuously develop new ways of meeting the expectations of our customers.
  • Assist in the delivery of a high level of service to internal and external customers.
  • Support the delivery of corporate and training events.
  • Participate as required in regular meetings within the HROD directorate.
  • Provide cover across the HROD directorate as and when required and be flexible in approach to meet changing demands on the service.

1a). Relevant Degree or recognised professional qualification or equivalent / Higher qualification

OR

1b.) Four GCSE’s at Grade C or above to include English Language or equivalent qualification AND one year’s administrative/clerical experience

OR

1c.) NVQ Level II in Administration and one year’s administrative/clerical experience

OR

1d.) A minimum of two year’s administrative / clerical experience

AND

2.) Demonstrate experience in the use of a range IT systems and software packages

3.) Essentials skills and knowledge:

  • Effective communication skills to meet the needs of the post in full.
  • Ability to work as part of a team whilst using own initiative and be flexible in approach to work.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales whilst meeting targets.
  • Ability to prioritise work to achieve set deadlines

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working in a Human Resources team

Further Details:

  • Hourly Rate: £11.67
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon – Fri, 9am – 5pm
  • Duration: Up to 6 months with possibility of extension
