Job Title: Make Ready Support Worker
Location: North Division
Salary: Band 3
Hours: Full-Time (30 hours per week, 22.5 considered) | Shift work including nights & weekends
Duration: Temporary
Apple Recruitment Services are delighted to be recruiting a Make Ready Support Worker (Band 3) on behalf of our public sector client.
This is a vital operational support role ensuring emergency vehicles and equipment are fully prepared, clean, stocked, safe, and ready for frontline deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean, disinfect, restock, and prepare emergency vehicles to agreed standards
• Conduct roadworthiness checks including tyres, lights, fluids, and safety equipment - Move/drive vehicles between bays/stations (C1 licence required)
• Maintain equipment records, Vehicle Daily Inspection logs, and stock levels
• Report defects, IPC concerns, and equipment failures promptly
• Support infection prevention and control, waste disposal, and PPE use
• Liaise with operational crews to ensure vehicle turnaround and readiness
• Conduct equipment checks, rotation, replacement, and secure storage
• Support station cleanliness and continuous service improvement
Essential Criteria:
- 3 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above including English)
OR Level 2 vocational qualification + 1 year relevant support experience
OR 3 years’ experience within support/cleaning/facilities/fleet services
• Full Category C1 driving licence (must be held before start date)
• Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends & public holidays
• Strong organisational, communication, and hygiene standards
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in ambulance, fleet, facilities, cleaning, or support services
• Knowledge of infection prevention, COSHH, PPE and cleanliness protocols
• Ability to use handheld devices/recording systems for logging checks

• May be required to support other North Division sites when needed
