Job Title: Procurement Advisor
Location: Lisburn
Salary: £19.59 per hour (PO1 Grade, SP 27)
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
Duration: Up to 6 months with possible extension
On behalf of our client, Apple Recruitment Services are seeking a Procurement Advisor to join the Finance team of a well-established public sector organisation based in Lisburn.
This is a key role supporting the Procurement and Contracts Manager in delivering efficient, compliant, and high-quality procurement and contract management services. You will play an essential part in ensuring that the organisation can access the goods and services it needs to serve the community effectively.
Main Duties Include:
- Providing advice on procurement processes, tendering, quotations, and public sector procurement legislation
- Managing relationships with external procurement bodies and internal stakeholders
- Monitoring supplier performance and participating in contract review meetings
- Supporting the operational procurement process from requisition through to payment
- Ensuring compliance with governance, data protection, and audit requirements
- Supporting procurement system improvements and contributing to service modernisation
- Assisting in training and mentoring junior procurement staff
- Deputising for the Procurement and Contracts Manager when required
Essential Criteria:
Applicants must meet one of the following:
- Hold an HNC (or equivalent) with 2 years’ experience in a procurement environment within a large** complex organisation
OR - Have 4 years’ experience in a procurement environment within a large** complex organisation
Additional essential skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge of the public procurement lifecycle and relevant legislation
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage high-quality work
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder influencing skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and finance/management information systems
- A full, current UK driving licence or access to transport to meet the requirements of the role
