Job Description

Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Learning and Development Officer on behalf of the NI Ambulance Service.

Job Purpose:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Human Resources, Education, Learning & Development, the post holder will contribute to the effective management of Learning and Development work streams within NIAS and the implementation of the Trusts Learning and Development Strategy. He/she will be responsible for the co-ordination, planning and delivery of a range of learning and development activities across the Trust. He/she will work closely with other members of the Human Resources Directorate, contributing to the development of a range of initiatives and achievement of objectives.

Job Description:

1. To contribute to the development and implementation of the Trusts Learning and Development Strategy and associated programmes.

2. To contribute to the development and implementation of a range of organisational development programmes such as KSF and Performance Management, Investors in People, Skills for Health, and the Widening Participation Agenda.

3. To provide advice, guidance and training to managers and staff to ensure learning and development needs are effectively identified, implemented and evaluated against Trust priorities.

4. To ensure an innovative and flexible approach to the delivery and/or facilitation of a full range of learning and development initiatives across the Trust.

5. To facilitate learning opportunities to meet leadership, management, team and individual development needs across the Trust, as required.

6. To support the Asst Director of HR in the implementation and monitoring of a Trust wide learning evaluation framework that will measure the impact of learning on organisational performance.

7. To contribute towards the achievement of a range of local, regional and national standards to include the Human Resources Controls Assurance Standards.

8. To work in partnership with relevant awarding and validating bodies to ensure quality assurance frameworks are established and maintained within the Trust.

9. To attend internal and external meetings and working groups, relevant to the role, contributing to the meetings and bring back key actions and points for discussion with appropriate managers within the organisation.

10. To participate on regional learning and development networks to ensure best practice and research findings are shared and implemented as required.

Essential Criteria:

Applicants must, by the closing date for applications, have:

  1. A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 2 years’ experience at Band 5 or above in an HR and/or Learning & Development function.

OR A relevant diploma or equivalent professional qualification and a minimum of 3 years’ experience at Band 5 or above in an HR and/or Learning & Development function.

OR A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health and Social Care field with a minimum of 3 years’ experience at Band 5 or above in an HR and/or Learning & Development function.

2. Have at least 1 years’ experience managing people.

3. A working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite.

Further Details:

· Salary: Band 6, £33,706 per annum

· Duration: 6 months

· Location: Knockbracken Healthcare Park, Saintfield Road, Belfast
