Job Description
Apple Recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Officer (Band 6) on behalf of Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, based in the Belfast area.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision of an efficient and effective Raising Concerns in the Public Interest / Whistleblowing Advisory service to the Trust. The post holder will support the Whistleblowing Manager and Advocates to raise awareness of the Raising Concerns Policy and associated processes.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Support the development, implementation and delivery of a Whistleblowing function that ensures the Trust complies with Trust policy and legislation.
- Act as an initial point of contact to provide support and advice to clinicians and managers on matters relating to Whistleblowing.
- To strictly maintain confidentiality in all dealings throughout Whistleblowing processes including investigations.
- Ensure that investigatory processes are carried out in accordance with established Whistleblowing procedure and legislative requirements and that methods of investigation comply with best practice.
- To assume responsibility for a specific case load, planning and prioritising as required.
- To support, with the development and maintenance, a pro-active approach to the management of Whistleblowing matters in conjunction with managers, including identification of emerging patterns and associated remedial action.
- Support the design and delivery of Whistleblowing Training to managers and staff including tailored and targeted approaches.
- Keep abreast of current developments, emerging employment legislation and best practice within the HR function, including via bench marking.
- Undertake specific projects within the HR function as required.
- The post holder will also take a lead in specific projects as agreed.

Applicants must, by the closing date:
1a.) Have a relevant University Degree or equivalent professional qualification plus two years’ experience working in a Human Resources/ Case Management/ Investigative field at a minimum level of Band 5 or equivalent/above.
OR
1b.) Five years’ experience working in a Human Resources /Case Management/ Investigative field, two of which should be at a minimum level of Band 5 or equivalent /above.
2.) Knowledge of;
- Health and Social Care in Northern Ireland.
- Investigative Policies and Procedures.
- Current Employment Legislation.
3.) An ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of ranges of managers, Trade Unions and all external stakeholders.
4.) Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
5.) An ability to work effectively as a member of the HR Team.
Desirable Criteria:
- 2 years’ experience as a case management/ investigative field.
Further Details:
- Hourly Rate: £18.10
- Hours: 37.5 hours, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm
- Duration: Up to 6 months with possibility of extension
